Thanks for all the feedback, especially the link to Merlin, where they listed the weights for each of the sizes. I was surprised to see the Contis are actually a little heavier than my tires, when I thought I'd be shedding weight. I am going to hold off on replacing. Unfortunately, I now have to add the Schwalbe into the mix. I am definitely going to add in the possibility of using TPU tubes. I can leave my house in 3 different directions, and have an immediate 7* to 9* climb, depending which way I go. Great training, but I'm not getting fit as fast as I'd hoped.

Perhaps in cycling (as in golf), I'm going to be a constant tinkerer. With my current 50/34, 11-34 set up, I'm also considering changing to 11-36. Anything to make these hills easier. Can't believe that in my 30's, I knew nothing about any of this except that the hills in San Diego were a challenge to conquer. What a difference 3 decades makes.
