The Ticking Has Returned
The ticking has reasserted itself, becoming all-consuming, like the constant "tick-tock" of a clock inside the crocodile that ate Captain Hook's hand. Is the beast getting close? Speeding down an incline, these thoughts persist.

Very meta.

Unlike Captain Hook, the ticking likely denotes danger, but I have yet to discover the “crocodile”. A steady rhythmic ticking that discounts cadence and speed as mere flapdoodle for its incessant beat.
There is a Poe analogy here also but I am too weary to grasp it. |

The crocodile eats Captain Hook. The ticking absolutely meant 'danger'. The guys hand had already been chewed off and the croc was hunting him. |

Are you sure it's the bike? Maybe it's coming from inside you, like a heart valve or something. Do you have a Jarvik-7?

If you are actually looking for advice (and based on this and past threads, it doesn't seem like you are) then you should provide a whole bunch of information about the sound, when it occurs, etc.

The commencement and cessation of the ticking are random, and the ticks are rhythmic with no correlation to speed or cadence. "I talked of engines—of noisy engines—but still the sound increased—and what could I do? It was a low, dull, quick sound—much such a sound as a watch makes when enveloped in cotton." - E.A.P. |

The OP utilizes illieism for precisely the same reasons as Julius Caesar.
Good news or merely a brief respite, but the ticking has again ceased. |
