Litespeed Hyperion - Cracked Frame
I have (had) a 2002 Litespeed Hyperion with about 5000 miles on it. Very well maintained, never crashed, looks like new. Last week I discovered the drive side chain stay is CRACKED - about 2 inches behind the BB, right at a weld. I'm 6' 2", but only 170 lbs. (hardly a Clydesdale) - riding a 61 cm.
I saw a post at epinions with same problem, same location on 2002 Hyperion. Wondered if there are any others?
I had to strip the frame and have my LBS ship it after calling for an RMA (Litespeed won't handle warranties directly - only through authorized dealers). After inspecting the frame, they'll most likely offer an Avior as a no cost... or some deal to upgrade to Ti. I'll let you know how it works out.
