Hey! I forgot to tell everyone............
I haven't had a cigerette since 7/3/04!!
Lots of you folks encouraged me when I first began the ordeal. So thank you. Can't believe I forgot about it. Over a year! I would never had thought I could do it. Wow! The Biking! That made a big difference. Went riding instead of sitting around and feeling sorry for myself. My gut got a tad larger but my butt sure looks good in those riding shorts now. BEEFY! So Up your's Phillip Morris! Go to HELL! HA HA HA HA |
Well good for you! Whatever you do, don't give in to stress or any lingering cravings that might creep up on you. Just keep doing what you are doing, and you'll be doing it better! Congrats!
|
sorry to hear that. I'll have a smoke for you :D

Congrats. Besides riding, did you do anything else to help quit? I'm trying to get my lovely wife to quit but she won't.
|
I've been clean (smokeless tobacco) for going on a year an a half. It feels good to have that monkey off my back.
Congrats |
I haven't even had a social smoke since I started riding. I like this feeling. :)
|
nice one brutha! :)
You deserve to treat yourself to something special now, like a nice wheelset or something. It helps to have goals to look foward to, at 1 month, then three months, and so on, and at each milestone reward yourself in progressively larger rewards. At the end of the year you will probably have saved enough money by not smoking to get a very nice bike. |
Cheers!
I think it's about 7 months for me, don't miss it a bit. And I'm a better climber than ever! It's amazing how your lungs recoup. |
Congrats! As I always say, it's a filthy, nasty habit, and to kick it takes a lot of willpower. So
Koffee |
Congrats!
|
I managed to quit on April 1rst 2004, I thought I was being witty.
So, to date its been one year, five months, and 13 days... but whose counting??? |
I haven't had a cigarette since July 18th, 2005.
YAY ME!!! |
I quit in the beginning of August of this year after a reality check physical. I had quit 4 years previous using Zyban, but last fall family matters drove back to smoking.
Im clean now, and feelin better! Congrats on those who quit! |
I quit on April 5th 1998 at 5 PM. I have been a grouchy SOB ever since.

And....being able to notice the many advantages that being "smoke free" was having on my body was a big help. I highly recommend a nicotine subsitute at the start of a fresh Quit. If it worked for me......It will work for anyone. And my wife is a smoker. (She doesn't like the way they taste. Like the way she does after she has a smoke and kisses me. YUCK!)
For help call 1-800-no-butts : Just now saw this on tv as I write this I remember all that stuff only to well. I looooved it. Whatever it takes to quit is the right thing - just stop that nasty crap, right? With respect though - the best way for me was cold turkey. I can't "pack a new pack", or blow smoke rings with lozenges. To fill the void I ate more, exercised like crazy, chewed gum and ate sunflower seeds...oh yeah, and I j*rked off a couple times a day (single guy - I know, TMI, but what can I say, it helped!). |

I quit in 1987. Smokeless for 18 years now. Would you believe it - I still dream about it - that I'm busy smoking and mentally kick myself? :p

What i dont understand is why smokers quit after smoking for so many years... Have'nt the damage already been done(black lungs). It's not like your lungs will repair itself. Or will it**********
Anyone care to educate me? |
