Is there a way to sticky all of BF? Even past the front page... I rarely hit out there, usually just link right to here/touring/road......

Yeah, the mods can do an announcement that appears as a sticky at the top of every forum. Not sure if they'd do that with this. I PMd one of them last night asking if they could but haven't heard back....

Bump - Thanks Mods. Hopefully more people see this. Although with 143 viewing SS/Fix, and 51 here, I kind of wonder...

Wells Fargo bank and anonymous donors are gonna put up the money for replacements. Keep your eyes open though, those scumballs are still out there somewhere.

update here, corporate and individual donations are coming in
"Wells Fargo, Pacific Gas and Electric and dozens of individuals have raised more than $35,000 to help replace about 30 specially-crafted bicycles for disabled children stolen last week from a Berkeley nonprofit."

You take out a policy, declare the value of something. It gets stolen. The insurance company that based your premium on the declared value pays you the declared value.
I don't see how that is the insurance company's fault.

I just donated. The credit card is already out of control but what the heck a little more won't hirt ant is will do a lot of good. What I don't like is Network for Good is taking 3% out of every donation. I realize they need to cover costs but I still think it is a bit extreme.
Anyway here is the website in case anyone is having trouble finding it elsewhere in the thread.

I watched this on TV yesterday. They interviewed a girl with cerebral palsy, she became a new person when she started riding her bike and was encouraged to continue her physical therapy and regain more use of her muscles.
If they find the creep who stole these bikes, the handicapped folks should get together and run the thief over with their new bikes!

Man--stinky, stinky, stinky. I feel the same, if not angrier, as when I read a story about how a guy cut of an 85 year old ladies finger to get the wedding and engagement rings off of her arthritis swollen fingers (her husband was deceased). I do hope they find these guys, that no one buys the bikes, and that the group, and it must have been large, gets exposed for what they are. I will be appealing to the One who lifts up the downtrodden and puts to shame their oppressors (Psalm 146). Thankfully, their bikes will be replaced.

People like that make me sick....
I'd love to find one of the people behind this and show him the greater benefits of SPD cleats

Still kicking.
Tasteless, really tasteless. But hey a use for my Stock SE handlebars that I had laying around. Now only to find the scumbags that did this..

I'm sorry I've only returned to the Forum as of late. I'd suggest to any tandemists out there who may be short on cash that they donate their time.
BORP relies on experienced tandemists to donate their time and half of their tandem to allow cyclists with seeing disabilities to enjoy riding.
I've done some rides and they're a blast.
So if you would like to offer your support, give them a call and join them on a weekend ride!
