Heya. Got this email last week (1/25/06) from Performance:
now, i'm not freaking. I have the FTA5, and it works just fine and dandy. if i fall off and ride into the TV, i won't sue. just haven't heard yet what the defect is, and haven't received my packet yet. anyone else get theirs yet, clue me in?

Our records show that you purchased one of the following trainers between 8/28/05 to 1/15/06,
PLEASE STOP USING THE TRAINER IMMEDIATELY.
Nashbar Watt Master Fluid NB-WMF5
Nashbar Watt Master Magnetic NB-WM5
Nashbar 2006 Fluid Adjustable NB-FTA5
Nashbar 2006 Fluid NB-FT5
Nashbar 2006 Fluid/HRM NB-FT5H
We found that a small number of these trainers may have a defective part from the manufacturer. The affected trainers have a potential defect that can cause the bike to release from the trainer. This issue does not apply to trainers sold prior to or after the above dates.
We apologize for the inconvenience and will make the corrective process as easy for you as possible. This week we are mailing you a packet with detailed instructions. If you have questions, contact our Tech Dept. at 800 888-2710 or technical@nashbar.com.
