Anyone from Lubbock?

Hey I just got my first road bike and was wanting to see if there was anyone from Lubbock here. I was curious about where some good places to ride are and would be more than happy to ride with someone if they would like someone to ride with also. So hopefully there is someone out there that is from the Hub City.

Bikes: 1971 Motobecane Grand Record (frame), 1983 Vitus 979 (Bought new and built up. My son still rides it), 1978 Raliegh Roadster (complete but totally torn down right now. 28" wheels, Surly Cross Check ( my love. What a bike)

Hello SHaterius! I am suprised there are not more Hub City riders joining in here. I know they are out there; the dedicated commuters, the competitive racers, and the active recreational riders. Your best resource, IMHO, for routes or contacts is Broadway Bikes. Although they are relatively new owners, the shop has been around since the 70's when I started using them. They have a Sat. morning ride (liesurely) and some pretty agressive evening rides also. I am currently mapping out some new routes of my own to add some miles to my rides but, as you know, the grid pattern of all the Farm to Market roads and flat landscape make for pretty boring rides. I am working on a loop to the East down into the canyons and off the Caprock but there again you will be riding the last of the loop into the prevailing winds.

I've been babying a bad knee since the first of last month so as not to excacerbate the pain so I am not riding great miles right now but would like to stay in touch and share experiences. PM me any time here and we can maybe get some other people interested in starting up something. Rick
