I'm looking for a road bike, been riding the 25 year old dirt bike and time to take the next step. I plan to do the MS 150 next year and some rides before. Over weight out of shape and Highg cholesterol, starting to change all 3 but at 48 its tough. What are the opinions of the Cadent 1 and 2? Would like to stay under $650, a salesman said these might be on track and a good staring place to look. Upright seating compared to most road bikes but better than a hybrid. Any help or suggestions would help. I know many folks have ask about getting started and I have read many post, learned enough to ask questions.

I posted this question earlier this year. The only response that i got was Raleigh,s dont have much resale value. I have seen the cadent2 it appeared to be good value and I liked it, but did not get to ride one.Hoping to hear pro,s and con,s also.

The Cadent is a very good bike.I really liked the one that I test road.I think they are a little high priced but that is just an opinion.
I would have no problem with a Cadent,I also wasn't real partial to the rootbeer brown color but they did have a blue one that I drooled over before I got my Grand Sport.
It would be a good choice.
