A perfect day

I just love days like today,
Temp about 55 F. little or no wind, cloudless blue
skies.
I like winter here in Texas, for the most part
its perfect weather for riding. I really like the fact that
I can ride after noon and not worry about
heat exhaustion.

So how was your day?

Marty

About the same a few hours north of you, lotek. In my house everybody is either getting over, or just catching the flu. I'm much better now, tomorrow looks good so far...

Yes, it warmed up a bit here in GA, too, LT.

More humid than you Texicans, tho.

(Oops! I take that back, after checking weather.com!)

I rode yesterday, great ride home. But I wish it had been like today.

Bikes: Bikes are environmentally damaging

I had the best workout I have had in a long time today. Met one of my str goals 3 weeks premature. Not riding right now due to knee problem but will be soon enough.

Did a chest workout today at the gym and really rocked on the benchpresses.

Tomorrow is leg day. It will be my test to see if it is ready to ride again.

Head cold keeping me off my bike.
I got snowed in at the Albany NY air port over the
holiday and I got sick from the blizzard!
Haven't road in two weeks!

Rainy and windy here in No. Cal. so no ride today. Instead, I put a new saddle --- Terry Fly Ti --- on the bike.

Tomorrow is looking better. Morning showers and clearing in the PM. I'm looking forward to putting in 40 miles or so, if the weather gods see fit.

Yes, it has been 30 degrees for the past few days with blue skies too. Its great that we are having such nice weather in winter.

Mostly sunny in St. Louie today, temps in the upper 40s. A good day to ride, so I did.

Sounds like winter here in Queensland. The only problem with Queensland winters (apart from the fact they only usually last for a couple of weeks) is that sometimes it gets a little warmer than I'd like.

Lotek you gotta rub our noses in it? Grr....... it'll be at least april before it gets that warm, barring one of those freak warm spells in winter.

Everyone digging out from that big storm? I hear STLouis got pounded, has the snow melted yet?

Actually it's been nice here, rather cold but sunny and we haven't had snow since late nov. We're due!

This has been a really mild winter so far
(of course I've only been here for 2, the previous 5
were in South Africa).
Today was very humid (90% +) with some good
wind going (25mph) so it wasn't a perfect weekend
(although did ride).
ChrisL, the winter so far is alot like the winters in
Johannesburg, a few days in the low single digits (centigrade)
and most in the mid to upper teens.

Oh well, not quite like our "winter" then. Winter here on the Gold Coast involves virutally all days in the low 20's C, with a few creeping up to the mid 20's. As I said before, perfect riding weather most of the time.

St. Louis got snow Christmas Eve. The temperature today was in the low 60s. Not much snow left. There must have been hundreds of us out on bikes.

I'm not sure what the early morning temp was yesterday down here, I think it was mid-low 50's. From the looks of the folks turning up for the club ride, you'da thought it was below freezing. Everyone was in thier long tights, long sleeve jerseys, riding jackets. Too funny. We haven't had a single flake of snow yet this year...

Uhm, No way I'm going out today.
66 degrees F (19 C), 100% humdidity, severe Thunderstorms.
Tornado warnings in Frisco (verified sightings) and at
13:52 CST it looks like night outside my window at work.
Now, what was that I said about perfect winters days?

Hey Christine,

You got sirens going off? we do on the west side
of Tollway. Tornado seen in the colony.
I'm sure glad I rode on the weekend, not riding today.

I'm in Carrollton, and there are no sirens. I know there are some in Frisco and Plano though that just went off. You're right - it does look like night out there! A tornado just touched down on 15th and Independence in Plano. Yuck!

Supposedly a tornado along Independence in Plano. Sirens going off in Frisco and Carrollton. Get these storms over with so we can have a nice ride on New Year's Day (and hopefully back to as nice as it was Saturday - First time partially around White Rock Lake - then out to Hwy. 80, over to Lake Ray Hubbard and back along many different roads. Glad someone else knew where they were going)

Oh, Oh....security now telling us to move away from our office windows (tollway and loop 12) later........

Christine,
From Oxford:
chilblain n. a painful itching swelling of the skin usu. on a hand, foot, etc., caused by exposure to cold and by poor circulation. chilblained adj. [CHILL + BLAIN]
Nasty weather thats for sure, we're under watches until
7:00pm. Gonna be a fun drive up Preston to Frisco, thats
for sure.

Lotek, that picture looked like it was taken in the middle of the night! Is that what it usually looks like when tornadoes are in the area? Not the city, obviously, but around that area. I've heard it gets really dark.It looks like nuclear winter, or those photos of NYC on Sept 11 with the smoke obscuring the sun. Eerie!

I've got rotten circulation problems in my hands so when I cycle in the cold I get these nasty horrible itchy swellings all over my hands usually on my fingers the pain makes me want to crawl up the walls and then I go into the warm it gets that unbearable I can't sleep, when the weather is warmer they disappear till the following winter!! basically as quoted by sum nice chap earlier!! Wearing gloves does not really stop it happening in the first place!!
