Challenge?
One of my new years resolutions for this year is breaking my mileage from 2 years ago, since last year was a bust due to business related stuff. I was thinking of throwing out a challenge of some sort for this year. Maybe the top 3 people with the most mileage before Jan. 1, 2004 gets some sort of prize and bragging rights. Maybe have people who want to sign up pitch $5 or $10 each into a kitty and maybe have a "yellow" jersey, something like the "bike forums jersey" for the leader at the end of the year or who knows what? Skies the limit for whatever you can get for $5 or $10. Just an idea.... what do ya think? Of course this should be a "road-miles-only" challenge. Races, commutes, day rides, etc. counts. Just as long as you are on the road.

I guess the question is whether people would necessarily tell the truth about how far they rode this year.

I think we should have everyone on the honor system. Then on Jan 1, 2004 everyone can send their mileage to one person, say the moderator of the board, then after the moderator gets everyones numbers in they will be posted in one thread and then we can see who the winners are. I figure if you cant trust a cyclist, who can you trust, eh?

I suppose I should start keeping a tally then.
