Shimano Front QR recall replacement

Has anyone received a replacement Front Quick Release from the current Shimano recall process?

I have returned two defective QRs on Open Pro wheelsets purchased this year from Performance.

No word on the Shimano RMA replacement since 1 week. . .

I understand the replacement program was not to start until later this month when they notify everyone of the procedures and allotment of the replacement skewers.

I haven't heard anything since the LBS took the skewers and sent Shimano an RMA request about two weeks ago.

I bought two sets of Mavic Open Pro/Ultegra wheels this year to try them out and now since one ride they are under Shimano's recall. Of all the spare parts I have there are no front skewers

But I have several other bicycles/wheelsets to ride so I'll just wait it out.

Thank You for the response and information. . .

You know... you can take a skewer off of one of those other front wheels and use it on the OPs. It won't match and say "Ultegra" though; you'll probably get laughed at.

I bought my wheels from Performance, and they gave me a set of Mavic skewers to use in the interim. At first, they wanted to only give me the front one since the back one was not recalled, but I insisted that they match so they gave me both.

No word on when Shimano will send out the new front QRs though...

Ja you are correct. I actually thought of something like that as I have two tubular wheelsets with Campagnolo Record hubs; but I thought the Campagnolo Record skewer may squish the too weak Ultegra hub's bearings Ja

Actually I really would like a matched hub and skewer wheelset

I have received the two replacement Shimano Ultregra front quick releases as of yesterday.

They appear "exactly" the same except for a sticker on the inside of the lever.

Now I feel safe
