need music selection ideas.
going to burn a cd, or 2, (thanks to kazaa), with riding music on it. no i'm not going to use head phones, instead i'll use a couple of small external speakers that are used with portable cd players. this way i can still hear whats going on around me. but i need music selection ideas.
most favorite music is country, mainly from the '60's, '70's, '80's and early '90's. i also like '80's rock and roll.
looking for up beat up tempo music. so no slow stuff.
any suggestions?

For country I would go with some classic Merle Haggard(White Line Fever etc.) or maybe some Johnny Cash. For 80's rock IMO any hair band would do or if you prefer something a little less intense maybe some Grateful Dead or Elvis Costello.

If ya wanna go old school country-rock.. gotta go with the creator of it all... Mr. Gram Parsons.. I believe he called it Cosmic American Music... definitely check him out.. songs like:
6 days on the road
Return of the grievous angel
pretty much anything you can find
as for 80's rock... you can never go wrong with REM, Talking Heads, The Pixies, or AC/DC
If you want some more newer 90's kinda stuff... The Breeders' "Drivin' on 9" is a good warm up, cool down kinda song... For Sprints and stuff I like to use Almost anytihng by the Foo Fighters.. especially "Monkey Wrench".
Let us know what you decide on for you ultimate Mix Tape
