Looking for color scheme input,

I'm converting a late 1980,s 50cm Univega into a single speed as a gift for my gal and would like to repaint it in order to add a little additional uniqueness. As part of the project I have found a used version of the pink “breast cancer awareness” saddle by Terry and matching pink Cinelli cork wrap. I think that these two components will add a nice touch to the “right” paint scheme. After standing in the paint isle of my local Gnome Depot and endlessly lining up cans of paint in an attempt to find the right color combination, I haven’t yet found something I’m totally in love with.

I was thinking of a flat black frame and fork with a gloss white steer tube and possible a few hand painted lady bugs running the length of the seat tube. Please don’t ask about the bugs, it’s a pet name kind of thing. I thought that black, pink and white with a little red might give a 1950’s rockabilly feel to the bike.

So, what do you all feel are a few nice matching colors that will work with the pink of the saddle and bar and how might they best be displayed on a frame? Maybe dark brown or white as a substitute for the black?

Sorry for the long winded post but this has been killing me for the last couple weeks.

What are her favorite colors? Take those favorites that match with pink. I hope she likes pink....

Paint the frame a dark blue and outline the lugs in pink. Also paint some pink design on the tubes or paint her name onto the top tube.

Bikes: are better than yours.

I'd like to see the whole darn thing pink. Everything, bars stem, seatpost, cranks, all powdercoated pepto bismol pink. That would be cool... or godawful...

How about an off-white opalescent color or some other opalescent color?

Personally I think black with pink trim would work well.
