Just got some eggbeaters!

I ordered a shoe/eggbeater combo from Nashbar and got them yesterday. I liked them so much I got another set at the LBS for my other bike. They are awesome! I'd read all these horror stories of falling off at stop signs and whatnot, but so far I've had no problems unclipping at all. I wish I would've gotten them sooner!

Greetings fellow Kansan. I have the same pedals, and yes you will fall. It's just a matter of when. I've got 3 sets on my bikes.

My combo from Nashbar isn't here yet :-)

Good to hear they're working out for you.

I've never fallen due to my eggbeaters *knocks on wood* I have about 6000 miles on them since Feb.
My falls are usually due to other issues and clipless has not harmed me in anyway. Now if they could teach me the following:
1) Watch where you are going. Running into a curb at 15mph hurts. Inspect that annoying click when you are stopped
2) Tour bikes have issues climbing steep gravel paths
3) Wet pavement + engine oil = no traction and you wreck

Incidentally, #2 and #3 occured today. Lovely day.

Did you order the same set? I was really impressed with the shoes, too. They are definitely nicer than I expected.

As for falling, I expect to fall, especially when I ride on the trail for the first time. It's just that I expected a steeper initial learning curve.

I ordered sandals, so probably not.
