Yesterday, I received some dismaying news about an acquaintance, so I thought I'd post this one more time-

If you are coming to Chicago or passing through, will you please send me a PM and let me know?

If you come to Chicago, realize that you can contact me and you will have a place to stay if you need one (provided I'm not already entertaining, of course).

If you come to Chicago, and I am entertaining, I have some pull with the local youth hostel, also located downtown, and for just like $29 a night, you can at least stay there for the night.

Sooooooooo... you will have a free place to stay for the night, a roof (or at least 40 other roofs, since I live in a high rise!) over your head at no cost, food, cable tv with lots of premium channels, telephone use, high speed internet access (I have 2 computers here), your own bed, a 25 yard swimming pool, full workout facilities, and downtown Chicago's nightlife at your fingertips. And it's all free, free, FREE!!!!

There are plenty of folks already on this forum that have contacted me and already have my telephone number.... so don't hold back- I'm your willing hostess!

Agreed. You never know what sort of people you'll find on the Internet. Most of the people on this forum seem pretty sane, but it's the casual browsers that would worry me. Having said that, if anybody is visiting the Gold Coast (at least while I'm still here), feel free to get in touch.

Hmmmm.... I was thinking about a trip back to Perth towards the end of the year, but with the possibility of this summer cycling job I have my eye on, I've postponed my summer trip to fall, which means the Australia/Asia trip is on hold... again!

Media, I enjoyed your pics of Perth. I haven't been there in years! Gosh, I remember going to the Hilton every Friday and Saturday night and hanging with Maryanne, the deejay, and she would play all my favorites. I was also a deejay for "Catch the Beat" with the Curtin U. radio station. That was like a bazillion years ago.... sheesh! I'll definitely drop you a PM when I'm ready to get back there- you too, Chris. Might as well stop over on the Gold Coast, since we have a gold coast too here in downtown Chicago. It would be fun to take a shopping trip down Chicago's gold coast, then head over to Australia's gold coast.

That @ss whuppin' is a promise. While I would love to host people, of course there would be a preliminary process of contacting one another and talking, so don't worry. If it helps, I have mace bottles scattered throughout the condo to precipitate the major medieval @ss-whuppin' I promised. I'm always prepared for the freaks and weirdos. Although, sometimes I count myself as one of the freaks.... In the event of a problem, we have security scattered throughout the building too. Our building is like Fort Knox right now. You can't even sneak in a pet these days without getting stopped! O the humanity, sweet humanity!

Great! And the best part is that I'll actually be here. When I lost my job a few weeks back it was looking like I'd have to move to Brisbane, but I've just been offered another in Southport, meaning I can stay here.

Koffee lives in one of the most secure buildings in all of Chicago, so she can control who comes and goes. Perhaps she can use a screening process. Only people with BikeForums jersey can enter.
