addicted to forums
my girlfriend has just told me i have a problem with spending too much time on bike forums. she is probably right-- it's the first thing i do when i get home, and i am constantly checking to see what people have written. she said 90 posts or replies in the past few weeks is too excessive. i am supposed to limit myself to 1 reply a day now. is anyone else having this problem? is it a disease? is there a 12 step program i can join? has anyone even valued my opinions here, or should i just abandon bike forums altogether?

My wife just accepted it as the way things are, and has moved on and now enjoys more of her own reading time.

I have a similar problem in reverse. My wife is on a disability pension (she suffers from exceptional, severe migraines) and is home alone all day. Most friends are wrapped up at work and with kids (ours are grown) so she's found a couple of forums where the match of personalities are good. She would be stir crazy and lonely all day if she didn't have this interaction.
I have just accepted it as the way things are, and have moved on and now I enjoy more of my own reading time.
I squeek onto the computer once in a while to check my posts because I get conversations on these forums that I could never get out in "real life"

Guys, there's no cure for the forum addiction - tell the girlfriend / wife that you have to have your daily, ok, hourly fix

I just got an Apple Airport (wireless) so that I can use my laptop in the living room instead of having to run into my home office every few minutes. I can also use the laptop in my aviary...feed a bird, hit the reload button, feed a bird....

I solved the family problems by giving my wife a spiked thread to read and now she is addicted also.
Keep on posting Gonesh, we will form a recovery group later and post our recovery experiences.

My wife has picked up crafts since I joined the forum. I would much rather do this than watch TV all the time. Plus I already finished Grand Theft Auto - Vice City.

Spouses do tend to resent the square-headed girlfriends/boyfriends. In the mind of a spouse who does not ride, time on the computer plus time on the bike equals little spouse time.

My wife works nights so I am home by myself at night lots. But when we are home it sometimes gets to her when I spend time on the net.
Just last night she made a comment about how some men spend all their time in the bars etc., but not her husband. He lust over bikes, talks to people he has never met and spends his money on bike stuff and model air planes! Go figure!
Her hobby? She is into sleep!
I only wish she would adopt a little more active life style.

The only cure for BF addiction is to ride your bike off a very high cliff.
Now that I'm home all day (except when riding or running errands) I've moved up in the "ratings".
