Bike prologs absence is begining to look terminal!!!!
|
We need a bikeforums computer genius to make us a log...
|
Hey Fubar!! You know, you might have just hit on an exellent idea there.
Think "Joe" would be interested? :) |
I always keep my own miles on a spreadsheet. So, the bikeprolog downtime hasn't impacted me much. I will have to go back and enter alot of rides once they come back up, but that isn't too much of a hassle.
We've had really rainy weather and I've been sneaking in rides when the rain has let up. I had my second crash with this bike this last Sunday. Curvy wooden bridge right after a rain shower combined with nearly bald tires and too much speed. Stupid on my part. But the bike was ok. :) Skinned my left knee up pretty good and bruised my ribs and left wrist. Didn't stop me from doing a short spin on Monday, but I tell ya, my ribs are very sore yesterday and today. Bike is in the shop for some much needed fixes, so I'm using the time to recoup a bit. Plan to be back riding before the weekend. I hit Nullarbor on Monday. I'm way the heck behind, but I think I'll easily reach Adelaide before the end... possibly even the VIC line. I second fubar5's idea about having an online log here at BF. |

Bikeprolog is back up now, but I will be more careful keeping my local backup up to date.
BTW, thanks to last Saturday's big ride I'm just an hour or so of riding from the 2000km mark since April 5. (It is down again three hours later...) /Csson |
I'm up to 690.06 miles (1121.25 km) since April 5th so I'm about 1/3 of the way through the route.

Zack, you're almost up to Balladonia - in the early stages of a Nullarbor crossing. One of the windiest places in the world (Nullarbor is apparently latin for "no trees").
I have now clocked 3,449km, which puts me beyond the Victorian Border, heading toward Heywood. Yesterday I reached Mt Gambier, and consequently, I spent a good deal of time gazing across the Blue Lake. |

I've now passed through Heywood, putting the Glenelg riverlands well and truly behind me.
|
I passed Kimba today. I'm going to easily reach my initial goal of Adelaide.
I decided this weekend that I'd like to go farther... so I'm going to try and do 200 miles this week, next week, and the week after and see if I can get to Mount Gambier by the end of the challenge. So we'll see how it goes... supposed to rain the rest of the week. :( |
FWIW, I finished the challenge last weekend. It's kinda disappointing to have done that last bit on a weekend away, it means I'll have to find somewhere else to post my Great Ocean Road pics.
|
Congrats Chris L. Great job. Way more than I could have done.
|
Alright, folks. The challenge ends tomorrow for those in North America and today for the rest of us. How did everyone fare? To my knowledge, myself and Juciluci were the only ones to actually finish. Did I miss anyone?
|
Well I went well past my goal. I made it to Mt. Gambier. I doubted I would even make it to Adelaine. So I'm pretty pleased with my progress. Had a 835 mile month of June. Woo hoo. :)
Can't wait for the next challenge. |
I know I didn't make it but I managed to ride a total of 1037.6 miles or 1686.1 km during the time period.
Zack |
Congratulations PB, you get a Blue Lake stamp when I get home this evening. Zack, I'll also tell you where you got to then. Stay tuned for a TdF challenge in a few hours time!
|
Zack, you made it just beyond Port Pirie, so you crossed the nullarbor, which is a pretty good effort in itself.
P.B, I'm out of Blue Lake stamps. You can look at the picture above to see where you reached. |
I have been touring in the Baltic states and Poland, thanks to which I got up to 3990 kilometres during the time period.

Originally posted by Chris L BTW, how was the Baltic states? I will probably make a post in the touring forum when the travelouge is translated and the pictures scanned. /Csson |
