Issue with Performance Bicycle order

Issue with Performance Bicycle order
I received a defective order from Performance Bike (charger doesn't work) and contacted them to see how I could arrange for a return. I was told I should mail the item and they will send a replacement.
Only after I explicitedly asked how return shipping would be handled did the not-so-helpful person state that they would "refund my credit card" once the item was received. When I asked whether this was their normal procedure the person stated it was.
The questions I have:
1. Does Performance come through on this promise of refunding shipping?
2. Will this be automatic or are they sneaky/disorganized where a follow-up phone call will be required?
2. What have people's return experiences been with Performance Bike?

Bikes: are better than yours.
Performance/Nashbar make good on their products. Sometimes they drop the ball but it seems to work out right in the end.
I had a situation where I ordered two different items. One was back ordered so they sent the other. Then, they sent a second copy of the first product instead of the back ordered one. After exchanging emails, they sent me a postage paid return label for the duplicate and eventually sent me the back ordered item.
