need your advice, help
hey guys, I need your help with sizing/style. i would like to get my fiance a bike for christmas. we are getting married four days after christmas, so i guess this is an early wedding gift too!
anyway, she is 5'9" so i want to get a bike that is the right size. do you guys know what size frame might be the approximate size i should look for?
also, i was thinking about an older bike, something feminine with a basket. not necessarily a cruiser, do you guys have any recommendations (pictures would be helpful)? thanks a lot you guys.

I would suggest finding a nice tiny toy bike, wrapping it up, and giving that to her as a token. And then you can find out what she really wants...

In the UK, Pashley is a good choice for a classic-looking , stylish city bike with basket.
Koga-Myata are lighter and more high tech and in my opinion, better.
You can get baskets seperately.

I tried to buy a bike for my wife for christmas and ended up spending waaaayyyy too much time stressing over it to get the right one. She needs to ride anything before you buy it. She also needs to ride lots of different ones before SHE picks one.
That being said, Electra has some really cool bikes she might like.

Bike fit is really important. Also the variety of bikes is so wide that buying a "bike" could mean very different things.

When wanting to buy something like this for my wife. I create a "certificate" on the computer that says "Redeemable for _________." That way my wife knows I wanted to get her something specific, so I put thought into it, and at the same time I was smart enough to know she would want to pick it out.
Gets me major cool points. And in case you are not aware, cool points are redeemable for sex
