help with bike trainer!

I recently purchased my first trainer, the Travel Trac Millenium V fluid trainer. In a lot of ways--easy hook-in, nice display--it's great. However, the roller is demolishing my bike tire! The rubber is shaving off, and the tire is done after only 2 hours of riding! Although a tougher training tier may help, there is something not right with the tension. This trainer has progressive resistance, so there does not seem to be a way to manually adjust the tension. Am I wrong? Any suggestions? Help!

You don't have the roller adjusted properly, reread your directions, you should be able to rotate your rear tire by hand without much friction.
