The only definite Fake tyre I have come across was Panaracer Fire XC's The tread pattern was different and the originals were made in Japan and the fake ones in Taiwan. Now although the fake tyres were not as good on most surfaces- they still had the odd occasion when they worked better than the Genuine ones. Only thing that gets me is that they do not wear out.

I don't have any pictures. I was talking to my uncle about buying continental tires on e-bay. He told me he read that you should only buy from a continental dealer because of counterfeit tires. he did not remember where he read it though.

Continental also use the same names both for car and bike versions of some of their tyres, which could've confused him.

sounds like an auto tire shop as there are no brand specific bicycle tire places, as far as I know.
actualy wouldn't be that hard to forge alot of road tires since the brand/model, and size are just screenprinted on the sidewall.
