I am looking forward to going to Arkansas soon to ride the IMBA Epic, Womble trail. I plan to do a 37 mile out and back over two days. I wll carry all my supplies on my back including tent, sleeping bag, water etc. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I shouldnt leave home without? Does anyone have experience with long distance rides? I am hoping to do The Colorado Trail one day. Are there other long distance cross country mountain trails around?

Don't forget to allow for drastic changes in weather conditions. If it's in the mountains, (I'm not familiar with that area) the weather can be very changeable in a short time, including changes in temperature.

This area of Arkansas doesnt get extreme weather. I will be doing the ride in October so the weather should be fall like. There are some mountains, but they are not very tall.
