Cheating by Champion Jersey makers

We all have our preferences for jerseys when we ride in an event or if we sponsor an event and order jerseys for our team.
We sponsored a team for the Rosarito Beach to Ensenada, BC, MX ride in April of this year. A friend recommended Champion Systems of NY. We contacted them and ordered about 24 jerseys in various sizes and sent a PDF document of our logos and those of our sponsors.
After various back and forth e-mails and OKing the final design and spelling and lay out of the logos on the jerseys we made a 50 % down payment.
We were told that it would be about 8 weeks for the order to be completed to us.
They day of delivery arrived but no jerseys arrived. We called and it turned out that FEDEX had made a mistake but we would receive them that same day but in the evening.
They finally arrived and a team member delivered them to the other team members who were waiting in hotels in Rosarito Beach.
We were happy that they had arrived in time and they could be worn by us.
The next day - ride day - we noticed that there were spelling mistakes, two missing logos from sponsor and that the sizes were incorrect.
The words MORTGAGE and FINANCIAL were spelled MORTAGE and FINACIAL. To say the least we were disappointed.
Some of the team members refused to wear the jerseys but most wore them.
After the ride and return to California I contacted Champion System with the complaints and asked for a refund for the wrong sizes (I wanted 4 jerseys refunded as they were too small). We sent them the 4 jerseys and expected a refund.
Several weeks later a package was sent to us with the 4 jerseys in it and an email with "sorry no refund" was received. It was not there fault.
We had OKed the jerseys design and spelling and there would be no refund. I tried to point out that we had supplied the correct spelling and also the correct sizes of the jerseys and the placements as well.
Still no refund!
So I decided to tell everybody out there not to buy from Champion Systems in NY. They can't get an order straight, deny culpability and do not give refunds on wrong sizes sent.
If you need jerseys please buy somewhere else but NOT from Champion because they will screw up your order and when you complain about it is not their fault that something went wrong.
If you want to know about it you can contact me I was the sponsor and paid for it!

From: Take a deep breath, and ask--What would Sheldon do?

Bikes: Nishiki Nut! International, Pro, Olympic 12, Sport mixte, and others too numerous to mention.

I am sorry to read all that--how frustrating to be told that something is YOUR fault when it is apparently not. I've been in that position too many times (although not in ordering jerseys).

I hope the team did well, even with the incorrect spelling and missing sponsors.

Welcome to Bike Forums, although it would have been nicer under different circumstances... .

I don't see the part in your post where you O.K.'d the proofs. Obviously you still have a copy of them so you can show Champion that what they sent you did not match the proofs you approved.

Were the spelling errors and missing logos on the proofs they sent you? We're thinking about them for our club kits, so this is important to us.

I offer no sympathy since the only reason you came on Bike Forums (so far) is to bad-mouth someone else. Yet your own post is full of errors while trying to convince us that there's no way it was you who made a mistake.

Also, by posting your e-mail address and letting anyone see your real estate website; between your only post, and your business website, it's clear that spelling and grammar are not your forte.

In the graphics/print world if you, as the customer, sign off on spelling errors, you have no recourse...at best a sales reps will discount your next order. If there had been no sign off then you might have a recourse.

Game, set, match...for the supplier...but come to think of it, with missing logos that were on the proof...you just might have something to go to bat with.

I think that there have been various group buys here that have used champion systems and as far as I know, things turned out pretty well. I guess there are always a number of good and bad experiences with a company. Some people HATE performance bike but I've always had good luck with them.

When they say that the jerseys were ok'ed, does that mean that they sent you an initial drawing that contained the spelling mistakes and/or missing logos which someone did not review or was the spelling correct on the design? If you had approved a design that did not contain these mistakes, I think it should be easy to prove it's their fault. If the approved design contained spelling errors, I think it may be more of a shared responsibility. As far as sizing goes, I'm not sure how they can be at fault.

If it's true that it is their fault (the proof they sent is correct), it sounds like the person who's handling your complaints is incompetent. I suggest you go higher up, try to get a manager or someone above this person.

The SoCal forums made a jersey with them, and I think we're pretty satisfied.
