Bikes: Some bikes. Hell, they're all the same, ain't they?
Remember, though, that the 12 gram cartridges fill up to a lower pressure than 16g cartridges do.

I've got a Second Wind and use the really cheap 10g CO2 cartridges, so it's cheap to carry two or three. If I've got plenty of time, I'll pump it up about halfway, then use the CO2 cartridge to get up the rest of the way. If I'm annoyed, I'll just use two cartridges.

I got the BikeNashbar second wind "clone" for like $7 after some crazy sale with free shipping awhile back:

It's nice because it can use 12g unthreaded with it's own screw-in cup, or any size threaded if you just the the headpiece.
The hand pump is not so easy to use when you get to psi beyond 40 but it's functional for emergencies.
Small enough but not tiny by any means.

I have used both, originally I purchased the CO2 inflator, used it reguarly, it did OK. Then I grabbed a Topeak Road Morph G frame pump, overtime I found that I used it more, it was more reliable, did not cost anything extra, now my CO2 inflator collects dust on the shelf.
CO2 = Convenient, quick, not get the exact pressure you want, limited supply of CO2 available, it costs you everytime you have a flat for new CO2 cartridges.
GOOD frame Pump = Convenient, not as quick, requires effort, get exact pressure you want, limitless supply of air, does not cost you anything when you have a flat.

You left out some other advantages of CO2 - when you need a fast fix (race, in the midst of a group ride, in a bad location like the shoulder of a busy road, etc.), you are ready to go. CO2 fits into a small pouch. Carry a mini in your pocket and you're set for anything. Buy spare cartridges in buld on sale, and they are very cheap.

I have a small frame pump that I have never had to use (touch wood). I considered CO2 but decided against it because Murphy's law says when I need it the cartridge will be empty and there's always lots of air. I have since found this little gem at www.cyclaire.com. Looks very interesting.

If you get Co2 get a few extra cartridges and practice how to use it. I didn't and ended up wasting about a 1/3 of it and never filling up the tube enough because I didn't put the valve in correctly. Luckily someone else came by to help me and my buddy.

Silca frame pump with new leather washer and metal Campagnolo head. Nets about 2 psi per stroke, or, putting it another way, 50 strokes is about 100 psi in a 700x23 tube.
Gets you a bit of arm workout.
Much more intimidating when waved at chasing dogs (in comparison to a CO2 inflator).
