A few weeks ago I call a popular online bike shop and ask about placing an order for a complete Long Haul Trucker. They had a 62" frame in stock, but I'm not skilled enough to build yet and figured I'd save money on the complete bike anyways. They tell me it'll have to be back ordered, but it shouldn't take too long. Awesome!
So I call a week later and am assured that it'll be delivered to them in just a few days.
I call another week later and am assured that they'll have it in just a few days.
I call today and they say the Surlys are on the dock, but I didn't order mine soon enough to make the cut. It's going to be at least another month, but it probably will be longer. Oh, and the 62" frames the did have in stock are gone, of course.
I probably should just give up and buy a different bike from a different company, but damnit, I really like the LHTs.

I tried. I actually found a few in my area thanks to the chatter here at BF, but the largest frame they had was 56cm. Even found a green one on Craigslist. Man I like the green color. Too bad it was 54cm with the 26" wheels

I've just accepted the fact that demand outweighs supply for these an the other semi-custom touring frames. Being patient really tries my patience....
