Insurance Payoff, finally

Insurance Payoff, finally
As most of you know I was struck by a car while riding on April 3rd of this year. I finally settled with insurance today. After medical expenses and everything I'm left with $3222 and change.
I'm doing fine, didn't really have a lot of pain and suffering that I went through other than a chipped tooth and sore face/shoulder.
I was wondering... For all of those that have had accidents how did it work out for you with the settlement? (if the other person had insurance, or what happened with legal matters if the person didn't)

$3222 doesn't seem like much for a crashed bike, a chipped tooth, and all the other bother you had to put up with.
Did you miss any work or have any other medical\dental problems?

That's just P/S.
also got $2104 or thereabouts for bike and equipment lost. and $4200 to pay off my medical expenses.
I called and talked to a lawyer and from talking to them, either the lawyer wasn't interested in a few thousand dollars, or he couldn't do much better than what insurance was offering me. I'm sure I could have gotten more but I think what I got is fair. No sense in milking the system just to make it more expensive for me to carry car insurance (if everyone sues all the time the money has to come from somewhere)

Never accept money from an insurance company settlement when it is not your fault.
3200 is not bad, but in twenty years when you may have severe shoulder pain that keeps you from doing things you want to do, this accident may be it, no Joke. I'm proof of that.
Take your settlement and invest it and watch it grow. You may need it for rotator cuff surgery.

I understand that YMMV, but I'm curious to hear more of your experience,
