Does anyone have any tips for adjusting cleat position?

I have borrowed my brother's road bike and the right shoe feels as though my heel is rotated away from the bike - I've tried loosening and moving but the cleats seems to have found a groove in the shoe that they want to stay in. Has anyone found this, and gotten around it?

(Apart from brute force, they aren't mine!)

I would seriously take your bike and shoes to your LBS. They can do a basic fit for you for no charge. A sharp LBS can get you really close and save you lots of trial and errors.
