Most likely the bicycles will need measuring, since only recently have geometries been included as part of a bicycles description for sale. The webpage would include info of how to make the measurements like Kens page. All the measurements can be done by anyone with a tape measure. I would like frame geometries most of all, and the rest of the info would be icing on the cake.

okay so tell me if this is a stupid idea or not. I was thinking of starting an online bicycle geometry database in which people can add frame geometry of their production bicycles and it could be searched. It would be a wiki of sorts. Since many manufacturers do not give out full specs on their bicycles this could fill the gap. This could also show bicycle geometry of older bicycles as well. The site will include instructions on how to make the measurements. The website will also be able to switch between in and cm measurements.

I personally think this is a great idea, one that I had literally yesterday as I bought a used bike off of ebay, and am praying it fits when it gets here.

I am currently in Kent (notice you're in Cleveland) if you'd like help with this, I'd be glad to help. I'm a graduating graphic design student and can help with light coding and visual stuff.

Just PM me if you'd like help.
