Getting Closer!!!
There are a lot of rants and unhappy threads, and i thought i'd switch things up a bit and post something nice
.
Managed to do my short loop of a little over 30km today with a new record speed! The loop i take is 30.48km long... my previous record for the loop was 28.8km/h. today, 29.8km/h! i wasn't expecting to go fast today 'cause the roads are wet (safety first). i was just glad it stopped raining (been raining for past four days
) and wanted to get out for a loop.
maybe it was the longer-than-usual warm up i had, maybe it was because i haven't been riding for a few days and so have recovered from previous rides, but i'm faster!
.
i know the average speed sounds slow (it is), but it's mostly on residential roads with plenty of stop signs and red lights. of course i stop at the lights, and i slow down (only stop if i see other cars) at stop signs. this really kills my average. my "true" biking average is probably over 30.0km/h, but i'm not going to guess how high.
my goal for this summer is to be able to do this loop with a 30km/h average with the stops + lights. 29.8km/h is pretty close!
i'm happy! now i get to go off tonight and play some rec. volley ball
have a good wednesday!
