New GUY just Bought NEW BIKES!!!!

Hi, just got two bikes a Giant Trance X2 for my mountain biking needs and a SCOTT Speedster S40 for an entry level also used for commute and some weekend ride. My budget is $2800 but dont want to spend it all. I want to leave some money for helmets, shorts, shoes and stuff. Here is the breakdown on the deal.

Giant Trance X2 is $1799.99
https://offrampbikes.com/itemdetails.cfm?id=1198

Scott Speedster S40 is $899.99
https://offrampbikes.com/itemdetails.cfm?id=1357

So Tax came down to $222.74
minus $400 off on both bike
minus $80 my deposit
minus another $320 coz they are nice lol

so TOTAL came down to $2122.59 almost $800 off....
Do you think i got a good deal? come to think of it i almost got the scott for free...

$2200 for 2 bikes. Sounds nowhere nearly free. May have been a deal but not nearly free. Have fun.

I don't know the best prices you can get on either bikes, but I can say that you are the proud owner of 2 really nice bikes. Now go ride.

I would say get one at a time and draw it out a bit. The anticipation is half the fun .

Just don't try to ride 'em both at the same time.

Congrats and get riding. You'll use that Scott a lot more though! I have a an expensive mountain bike and a less expensive road type bike. I count the miles on the mountain bike using hundreds and the road type in thousands.

Will you have a car to drive you to those trails or would you ride it to the trail head too?

I sold my car but i have a truck to drive around. I just said that its a hike coz i will be at school in the morning then work in the afternoon and if i have to drive near trails it will take me atleast 40-1hr depends on traffic plus road bikers going uphill too so by the time i get up there trails will be closed.

I think it's an ok deal. You can try calling around to see what other bike stores have to offer. Personally I don't really like Off Ramp, at least the one in Santa Clara. Always got a weird vibe from them, plus first bike they sold me was too big. Didn't even attempt to do a fitting. I was a newb then, so didn't know what to ask/look for.

Ah, I understand. I generally drive to the trail head. Sometimes I park at my friends house and we ride to the trail head (about six miles from his house). I really need a big dummy to transport my bike by bike.
