I like that,

I was thinking of getting that Planet Bike Protoge 9.0, the one that shows like 5 lines of info at once, anyone have one?

Yup, went through two of them (protege). I like the function of the computer for the same reasons you are interested in it. The one on my mountain bike broke. My wife had one on her road bike for almost two years, worked fine the whole time. We just took it off so she could use the same computer on her roadbike that she uses to stoke.

looks pretty cool, but it is a bit much for a computer...I was pretty dissapointed when I found that the cheapest computer with cadence was like 40 bucks.

Nice thing about the Planet Bike 'puters is that they turn themselves on. You don't look down after an hour of riding and look at a blank screen. I want the Protoge 8 (my 5 has a discolored screen) because it DOESN'T have temp. I figure it'll get the temp wrong and convince me I'm dying....
I used a cateye cordless last year. it was ok, but I found it fussy.
