Its a c'dale 500 cad 3 frame with one of those suspension front forks which gives about an 1.5 inch travel . I thought I would ride this bike for around 3000 miles and then get a good bike but 15,000 miles later I just love this bike.

I ride a 03 Scott Yecora, although I've added a CaneCreek Thudbuster, WTB saddle, Barends, and a Cateye computer.
I just hope the picture comes out as its the first time I've tried. Please don't flame me if it isn't cropped to fit.

I just picked up a 2001 Trek 1000. Im working on tuning it up right now. I just retaped the bars, installed a couple cages, and gave it a thorough cleaning. Ive got a new seat on the way, and then need brake pads. After that, it's as good as new.

My new custom Kirk is being constructed as we speak. I spent the weekend at the Dave Kirk's house and watched as he handcut the lugs and laid out the Reynolds tubeset on his table to show me my "bike".
Later, after a long ride and measurements, we went to his office where he has his huge drafting table. He laid out the basic measurements and angles, then drafted the frame. After a lengthy discussion of what I wanted and liked in a bike, what kind of riding I do, what I wanted to accomplish with the bike, how I wanted it to handle and feel, he made the changes. Then when he was satisfied that everything was correct, he announced "There is your new bike!".
It's quite exciting and interesting to be there, and involved, as the bike was being created.
It will take about a week to construct the frame and about two weeks to and from the paintshop. So about a mid-July delivery
Here's a sneak peek, the handcut seat tube lug.

Davet,
Nice Lugs. . .
I am totally jealous now, I will probably have to go
out and buy a Peter Weigle frame, or Richard Moon
or Richard Sachs.
can't wait to see pics of the whole frame.

Marty: Get a Dave Kirk frame instead! <g> He worked for Serotta for years and built most of their custom bikes. He moved to Bozeman Montana a few years ago, sub-contracted to Serotta to build all of their lugged bikes (CSi) and also built for Carl Strong. He just recently opened his own shop, and I am his first customer. I had previous expereience with Dave because I owned a Serotta Hors Categorie with the DKS rear end. Dave Kirk is the DK in the DKS. He designed, developed and patented it, among a few other things.
A neat guy, tremendously knowledgeable and extraordinarily talented. See his web-site: https://www.kirkframeworks.com

He e-mailed me today to say the frame was finished (wow! 4 days) and was heading to the painters tomorrow. I am so ready!
More lugs.
