Fundraising through cycling
Hi guys.
I am a member of a organisation (CanTeen) that helps teenagers living/dealing with cancer (patient, sibling, bereaved sibling). We have a supporter by the name of Sarah Ulmer, the New Zealand Olympic star of track! Wellll....
she has made the offer to CanTeen to help with something for us, such as fundraising I believe. I want your opinions on what sort of events we could do...?
I have come up with one idea..... a smallish 5km circuit, open for 12 hours, cyclists pay an entry fee, and get sponsorship for every lap they cycle. The can stop and start again at any time withing that 12hrs.
Ideas?

There is an event such as that in my city of Harrisburg, PA. Cyclsists get sponsored for a certain amount of money and ride a 10 mile (I think) course through town. There are no laps or sponsors per mile, just a flat amount. I haven't participated so I can't tell you more.
