Bikes: many bikes

Kustom bikes

Well with work taking over so much, I am amazed I "woke up". Took my brother seeing the dust on my bikes, and me not fitting into my 32 waist jeans anymore. I knew the waist was not going to stay at 32 forever, but not til I was 40, which is almost 9 years away.

So I went to the bike shop and got stuff for my mtn bike, and while I was there I got a used 197something 26" Schwinn Cruiser. Put some 22" apehangers on it and have been riding it to work this week. I am loving it more than my Stumpjumper all decked out with hydro disc brakes and XT grupo. It is almost like I have taken a jump back intime to my first bike. I am loving it.

Anyone out there into the Kustom Kruisers? Just would like to know where to find some parts.

I'm with you! Upright is way more comfortable and fun. We've got a bike shop here in Portland that sells used parts, I'm always in their back room...Electra, Dyno and Phat sell modern vintage bikes in the cruiser style..check out Electra's Townies and Streamline series and Phat's choppers and cruisers! Even Schwinn is selling repros of their 50's cruiser models. Low Rider bikes are popular in Southern Cal; and vintage one speed, three speed and 5 speed American and Brit bikes are way popular in Portland. 'Muscle bikes' (Schwinn Sting Rays and copies) are also popular and have collectors clubs all over the US.

I'd post some links but most of them are on my other computer (at work). There are new and used parts available on the web, and I'd have to guess locally at collector's meets, as well.

I'd love something like that, be great for summer blasts around town or off road. Unfortunately my budget won't stretch that far, not for a long while yet.

There's some shops that list stuff on e-bay that are actually "shops"...they just list on the net to stir up some extra dough...I've found all kinds of cool stuff..
