Tires

I have 700x35 Bontrager Select K tires on my hybrid bike. I need replacements, but can't this tire anywhere. The Bontrager site has a 700x32. Will these tires work? Or is there another similar tire that will work? Present tires have no tread down the middle and there are small slits for rain shedding on each side. I have Bontrager wheels also. I ride only on the road. Thanks, Michael<><

32c would definitely work. The only catch is that if you don't replace both tires the smaller one won't be as tall usually. I prefer 28c tires.

Hi,
no, but I did have a hybrid with 40c tires a couple years ago. It was sloooow. Go with a tire in the 28-32c size. And pick a good one.
If I was picking one from that list I would get the Panracer in a 32. That tire has a good reputation. If I was picking a tire for myself, it would be the Rivendell Ruffy Tuffy.

Id second the advice to go with 28-32.
Panaracers are sized small, so their 32 is like a traditional 28.
Its is a good size for all roads, and can take light trails as well. Ive even done some highly technical off-road riding with them, and beat most of MTB riding buddies.
The tread pattern is of minor impportance. you won't aqua-plane below 200mph on that size tyre.
