GREECE checking in.
I'm up for it - I'm in Greece. No safe passages from coast to coast, but we can at least do a touch and go here.
Will be riding Virginia Beach area this spring. France and Switzerland for a few days to visit the TdF. Hopefully Germany and Italy again this year as well.
Recommend that once it gets organized, we need to put a sticky post on all the major subforums to set down the rules/schedule.
Cheers,
Pat

I live in the Ottawa area and could easily bike the 60 or 70 so miles to the American border to drop off or pick up the cycling related Item, and I know for sure there are other people who live in the Ottawa Valley that are on this board.

I Think we should start in Spring but need to plan it out now, As in
What is it we will pass on. In and its only my opnion a necklace, so it dont get lost
Where will it all start from. Again in MO TwinTraveller place as it was his suggestion
Where will it stop : Again in MO Joe Gardner's place
if some one can rig up some type of voting system then all concerned can democratically arrive to a conclusion.
Any takers ????

Sounds good to me! Maybe Joe could get a Bike forums necklace made out of plastic or some other cheap, weather impervious material and get it to Twin Traveller. One of those lucite photo-holder keyrings would be great! Then he could printout a logo and stick it in there. Cheaper still (So no one would be tempted to stop passing it) Just get a logo laminated at Kinko's and tie a nylon cord to it. This may set some kind of record too. Has anyone checked with the Guinness folks? WWW.TOURDEPANTS.COM .

Just found out -
I can take it from Boston to Amsterdam on June 29 or from Paris to Boston on July 27. Either way, I can work it out so whatever "it" is will cross the Atlantic this summer.

i could bring it close to any of my country's (israel) borders: lebanon, syria, jordan, egypt - it would be a bit of a problem (understatement) getting it up to the border in most cases and finding someone to carry it on. it would also have to be an object which has no value, does not arouse suspicion and is easily checked by security.

I'm a roadie newbie, but count me in. I'm trying to get as immersed in cycling as possibe (charity rides, group rides, friends of the trails, etc) but this sounds incredibly cool. I cand ride and help spread the word in the Midlands of South Carolina.

Great Idea... if it actually gets off the ground you could count me in for the Saskatoon Saskatchewan (Canada) area.
Has anyone started a database of all the riders? Do we have a leader or leadership team? Without a small group responsible for organizing it and make the executive decisions, this will bounce around indefinately.
A map showing connections to-date would be very helpful if posted to a central location. A separate web page for all of the related information would be helpful. As decisions are made, they could be posted so people don't have to try to sort through this long thread to try to determine status/details etc.
