Help deciding please

I am looking at purchasing either a synapse 6 compact (leftover 08), or a motobecane fantom cx. The synapse will be 832 and the cx 541. My riding consist of mostly road and commuting. I encounter a lot of broken pavement on the sides of the road. I understand that the synapse is supposed to be more comfortable and that the stem can flip for more aggressive riding. Also that the top tube is 54.5cm. Can anyone confirm this? There is a lot on search for the cx, but not the synapse. I would really appreciate insight, and need to make a decision. Thanks.

Why in the world would you want to subject a new bike to roads like this?
Roads such as you discribe are for older beater bike, mate. Tear them up not a new bike.
