Sacramento Cyclist Hides Vicodin in "Crack"

https://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/28682970

An officer had originally stopped Lance Brewer Jr. at about 6 p.m. Wednesay near the intersection of Zurlo Way and Bridgecross Drive for not having a light on his bicycle.

Another ninja goes down.

Sound like an unlawful search and arrest.
Not having lights does not give just cause to search him.
Cops are a**holes sometimes.
Hopefully the guy gets that all thrown out in court.

Anyhow a lesson to take from this is, put lights and reflectors on your bike if you go out at night. Do not give the pigs Any reason to hassle you no matter how small, because you never know what they will try to pull.

You don't know the whole story. My money is on the police until there is proof otherwise.

Seems that BF members can be a**holes too sometimes by calling police officers pigs.

facist?
He didn't say a word about the cyclist's visage, and whether he found it becoming or not.

Well, the Republicans have been yowling that bicyclists are a symptom of the evil liberals who are out to destroy the world - so this does not surprise me too much. I hope the guy has a good attorney and enough money to properly defend himself. Other than that, there is a simple lesson to take from this: Don't pedal drugs.

yep, pedaling drugs can lead to nasty chain of events and a vicious cycle - this fellow needs to put a brake on his lifestyle and shift to a different track in his life...

A man that rides a bicycle with drugs in his butt crack, I suspect will be challenged to find a good attorney and enough money, as well.

I'd hate to be on that jury.

Somebody tell him to swallow the Vicodin not to use it topically. Why is it that people who do things illegally don't think to handle the easy things. ten bucks for a light and voila, he be having a great weekend.

Anyway... think about this when someone offers you something. Hmmmmm I wonder where that has been.

When I have seen most field stops where the officer gets someone out of a car or stops them on the street they do what some call a field stop. You are asked for ID and then most often they will ask if you are holding anything they should know about. Depending on how you answer they may request to search you. If you try to refuse a search they simply call for the drug dog and if he takes a hit on you it is rreasonable cause. Once they found any vicoden without a prescription you might be arrested. But anytime you get to the Jail you are strip searched. That is how it works in most states but particulary in California. Thye very best way to not get busted for carring drugs is???? Maybe if you don't carry drugs? When you get a chance watch the show cops it is an eye opener.

you'd think sticking it up the seat tube would be a much better storage place, or perhaps in the handlebars (slide off the grip for easy access). if you get searched, you wouldn't have the drugs on you - you wouldn't have anything on you. they're not going to call out the drug dog to sniff you.

Would you care to make a small wager on that? I've seen cops disassemble a friend's car "Because I detected an odor like marijuana when I stopped him." They towed it to "their" lot, pulled out the carpeting, door panels, seats, name it - and found nothing (he doesn't smoke pot). Then they charged him $120/day for "storage." It took him 2 days to get all the parts out of their lot. kaCHING$$$

I have seen something much like that. A woman who worked with me bought her son a car and he decided he needed to Limo tent the windows. Cops pulled him over with three friends. They took the seats out and several other detachable parts. Didn't haul him or the car in but he had to put it back together. His mom had the tenting removed the next day. But now most have dogs and it is less work then taking the car apart. Plus a lot is attitude.

so you're saying having the drugs on the body is better than not in terms of being caught?
