Bikes: Modified Gary Fisher Mendota (rain bike), Cannondale Caad 9-5 Black

My Customized Mendota

So I know from searching that there have been several people interested in doing a drop bar conversion to their current hybrid bikes. I like most, found a bike I really liked, felt comfortable, but at the time didn't know I wanted to get into full road biking. I like to customize to make things my own a little. So what did I do? I had a Gary Fisher Mendota. I purchased it thinking that I would possible do some smooth trail riding. Never did it. Early this year I started getting into road biking. Love it. Being a previous mountain biker and totally wearing out my stump jumper. The Mendota frame was a good fit, so why not convert to drop bars. I took the plunge. So here it is. It rides really nice and haven't had any issues keeping up with the group on rides. This will eventually be my rain/winter bike, but is my sole bike for this year. Hopefully if the economy holds in my little world, I'll get a proper road bike next spring. I'm currently training with a few friends do get in shape to do some centuries and multi day rides this summer. I updated the drops with Ritchie ergo's, Tiagra STI 9 Speed shifters, BB7 disk brakes and a 175mm Tiagra triple.

Here's the picture. I know I probably was crazy. But perhaps this post will help others thinking about doing the same know that someone has done it. And I'm open for criticism.
