100 mile training

I am 50 years old and typically have ridden about 500 miles per year. I am entertaining riding in a local 2 day, 100 mile ride (the Hilly 100 in Bloomington, Indiana).
Does anyone have advise or a resource to reference for me in how to train for the ride which is about 5 months away? or other advise (do it, don't do it).
I am currently riding every other day for 15-35 mile per trip.
Thanks
Vince

Here's my article on riding a century (100 miles in one day) ... aimed at new centuries riders:

And also check out our own Long Distance Forum:

And the UltraMarathon Cycling Association site:

And ... yes, of course do it. Why not????

If you can do 35 miles in one day, you can do 50 miles two days in a row very easily. I don't think you really even need any special training. Just keep riding slightly longer distances until you hit 50 miles in one day, or more even. 100 miles in one day is considered the threshhold for "long distance" cycling.
