Need help with that Performance coupon (!)

okay okay, so i'm trying to make this deal work and i'm having some disconnect issues.

the performance 800 number knows the 20% off coupon, but can't order fuji's and doesn't deal with bikes other than the tirenno (performance brand). on the other hand, the retails stores (there are many in my area) are happy to special order the bike from the fuji warehouse but are unfamiliar with the coupon (which is a deal breaker for me).

does anybody know where the coupon originates that is referenced in this thread?
https://bikeforums.net/showthread.php?t=53054

the girl at the store is trying to sort it out, but the red phone isn't going to be a factor because their warehouse isn't involved. she was saying if i could show where the coupon came from it'd be helpful.

so any help about where that coupon came from?? it's looking like i won't be able to get the store to honor it unless i can bring them something to look at.

got a bit more info and the news is not so good:

the store manager talked to a district manager who said that the printable coupon that he'd actually accept originated at a 'sea otter event in california' and was for 20% off accessories and 10% off bikes. he's not going to honor the code by itself.

so somebody would have to have a paper version to scan in for me to just get 10% off, otherwise it doesn't work at the store for me.

I just used the code for an on-line order and it worked fine - saved me over $50. Shipping was less than the sales tax, even 2nd day Fed-Ex.

Try ordering on-line if you know what you want.

mark-
you're misunderstanding me, or you didn't read the post (like the second sentence). the bike isn't available online, and the stores won't honor the coupon code. that's the dilemna.

i'm glad you get the discount, but it doesn't help me to 'try ordering online' as you suggest.
