Need help finding replacement brakes
Hi,
I am not sure if this is the best place to post this.
I am desperately trying to find out what kind of brakes these (picture link attached) are and where and how i can get replacements. i know they say dia compe on them but thats about as much as i can read.
whenever i go to a shop, they hand me a pair of shimanos and tell me those will work. because i know this is not as simple of a problem, i ask them to put them on and when they try, it anything they try doesnt work. then im told a long story of how i need to get the bosses re-welded, etc etc.
I would like to know as much information as possible, specifically:
what kind of brakes are these (model, type)
where can i get replacements
what company makes replacements
if no replacements exist, where are my best and cheapest options
the bike i have was given to me. its a really old bianchi. i hope the pictures are sufficient. please let me know what you can.
Thanks!

Old Dia-Compe cantilever brakes. Is that an old touring bike or cyclocross bike? Apparently, the brakes are designed to mount on what are now non-standard bosses. Is the bike worth having new bosses installed? Maybe used replacement brakes on Ebay? I have no idea about a model name/number. Maybe post some better-focused pics on the classic and vintage forum.
Have you tried looking at Ebay or googling dia-compe cantilever brakes?
