20X1.75 on Side of Tyre???
Hello from England, I have just rescued a child's Raleigh Bicycle from a rubbish tip.It seems well worth saving to live another few years. My query is, it has 20X1.75 on side wall of tyres but the wheels actually measure around 16ins dia. or am I getting mixed up with Imperial and Metric sizes?. Also I have put the Name of the bike Model which is Sign-Written on the frame, onto search engines on internet and it comes up Blank. According to paintwork signwriting it is a Raleigh "SALSA". Can anyone Help me out ,with Date of manufacture, Original sale price etc, in fact anything. A factory label on frame says "Hand Built in Nottingham England". ( I suppose this could mean hand Assembled from Chinese parts) Thanks in anticipation of some replies. Ged'.

Tire sizing is notoriously confusing. Here's a little reading that will cure your insomnia: https://www.sheldonbrown.com/tire_sizing.html .
Don't bother trying to measure the rim diameter- it doesn't relate to anything, really. If you want replacement tires, anything marked "20 x 1.75" will fit.
