Ultimate. Ultimate frisbee, that is, not "ultimate fighting championships". Not to be confused with two people throwing a disc around at the beach, or playing catch with your dog -- it's a field sport. When played well, it's a very fast moving sport, with lots of running, amazing throws, spectacular catches, awesome interceptions. Where I play it -- it's co-ed, frequently played in silly costumes, and also involves making up a cheer and singing it to the other team afterwards. I like it because it is less about the game than it is about the play.
I also used to do a martial art called wing chun kung fu. I miss it terribly, but haven't figured out how to fit back into my life again. Occasionally I will practice a bit with a heavy bag but it's not quite the same...
I cycle and walk in order to get places. One of my big incentives for cycling this year was ultimate -- I needed to get to games, and that meant I needed flexible, reliable transportation that didn't rely on making arrangement with others. I do have to admit, however, that I would now be sad if my commute to work were to suddenly become substantially shorter.

Actually, I'm being a little unfair to bowlers. The bowling action in cricket is one of the most awkward things you can ask a body to do, and leads to a lot of injuries. And I've not seen many people bending their backs whilst yawning!

Ever since I left high school and didn't have to do PE again, cycling has been the only thing I did, and for the longest time this involved just utility cycling.
In 1994 I was bitten by the cycle-touring bug and 2 years later by the randonneuring bug.. (cycling nonstop for long distances in a non-competitive way)
When travelling I used to walk around cities but walking is something I don't really like.. like a lot of Dutch I'm so lazy that I don't walk when I can cycle.
Indoor cycling proved to be a lot of fun as well... really like those spinning classes.
I've taken up weight lifting since mid-January.. I can't say I am extremely fond of it, but since the progress has been very fast so far, I'm pleased at the results. Figuring out what kind of weight lifting would work best for a cyclist who desperately needs to lose weight around the waist is a bit of a guess. DenverFox led me to an interesting web site for that (Strength Online) but an even better source of wisdom is at SuperTraining in one of the Yahoo Groups..
And finally I'd really love to take up kayaking and cross-country skiing.. I've thought about joining a local kayak rowing club but haven't done so far.. I had thought to do so 3 yrs ago, but I got a job at the moment I joined which ruined the opportunity to train with them.. But actually rowing in my own area is not very appealing, I'd like to find out where I would be able to rent kayaks and go rowing on Wednesday or so.. Ideas for countries with best kayaking options outside NLs are welcome..
And some day I'm going to spend a month or 6 weeks in a country with optimal X-country abilities where a course doesn't leave me broke.. any ideas?

Regarding the recent comment on strength-on-line and supertraining Yahoo group:
I have reviewed both Supertraining and Strength-on-line and find that attempting to compare them is an apples and oranges kind of issue. Supertrainiing (over 3,000 members) appears to be highly oriented to discussion of research and practices of training while strength-on-line is very much a support group for those folks who regularly weight lift, providing a much more intimate and personal internet relationship amongst a much smaller group of folks.
They both are important, depending on the needs and desires of the individual.
