Need some help...

Lately i've been experiencing anxiety and i really feel like i need to do what i've wanted to for awhile. And that is to travel across the US, or atleast get away from this town that i've lived in all my life. Everyone wants me to take pills, but i'd rather fix this my own way. Does anyone think this would make me better?

I don't know about feeling anxiety but if you have time and can afford to get out, do so. Staying cooped up does no one any good. There are so many who don't travel or experience new things and will tell you to take a pill. It is easy to say but ask yourself "what do they do in life?" If the answer is "nothing" then get out and see the world. Don't be a go-nowhere person like them.
I do what I want to do and go where I want to go and all those around me tell me how much they admire my adventurous way of life. Most of these people are either afraid to fly or have never been out of the country. If I waited for them to join me, I would never go anywhere.

Well that sums it up, of course i want to hear what others have to say, but you're exactly right. Those who say that do nothing in there life. I just find it absurd to rely on a pill to fix my problem. Nothings holding me back from traveling, and i do feel like being "free" would help me vastly. Meeting new people, seeing new places, etc, etc.

I have been to Erie and would feel cooped up as well. What's stopping you? Start traveling!

Yep, what the other guys said: go for it! What's stopping you? If your answer to that is "nothing", then get on your bike - as we say over here - and do it!

Nothing makes me feel more alive than when I'm visiting new places. Doing that with friends is great fun, but also doing it on my own is soooo liberating!

Good luck, I know where you're at with the anxiety thing and pills are not the answer.

Typical American approach: "You don't want to be a couch-potato like the rest of us? You're sick! Take these pills."

Go ride your bike and get into shape for a trans-continental run.

Or...

You know i knew i was right...My mother even told me traveling would not be the answer, and even my doctor told me pills weren't a 100% fix. Nothings holding me back, and i even have a friend to go along with me. I think for the time being i'll just go camping to get away until then. I'm doing it, and i'll be sure to post updates if possible. I'll be leaving in about a week, as my friend has somewhere to go, plus i need to get the nishiki going for him. I think for the time being i'll just go camping to get away until then.

Thanks so much for the advice!
