... I will break 15,000 km since my last flat (three of them actually) on November 17 last year. The tally currently sits at 14,857, and I've decided to round it off with a century. Am I tempting fate here? Of course, but regular readers of my posts will, of course, be aware that I've spent the last 9,000km or so doing just that. I think most will agree that it's about time that fate got owned well and truly, and I'm just the man to do it.

Any questions?

I'm just wondering about some of the other great flat-free runs that others from this site have enjoyed in the past. This one eclipses my previous best (around 12,000km which ended on Christmas Day 1999), but how do yours stack up?

Do your tires last that long too?!? If not then technically youve had a flat tire.

Bikes: yes, I have one.

Fate was made to be tempted. Never hesitate to bite the hand that feeds!

Enjoy your century. You da man!

...curious, how many km do you do a day, i.e. how long have you been going with the same tyres?

From memory I bought these tyres a couple of days after my last flat, so logically, they'll be up to that distance by Thursday or Friday. Of course, I did have to deflate them for a plane flight on January 10, does that count?

Bikes: '92 novara ponderosa, '74 schwinn le tour, Novara fusion, novara transfer, novara randonee(2), novara careema pro, novara bonita(2).

All the way or just enough for the pressure change?(only a 10psi/0.65 bar drop at commercial flight altitudes) basicly was it ridable at that inflation pressure?

Nope, I just deflated it all the way for the flights (there was another on December 13 last year). I knew it wasn't going to take overly long to re-inflate them, so I simply didn't bother with trying to work out how little I could get away with.

Then they have been flat.

Oh I knew that. However, deliberately deflating tyres for a plane flight is not the same thing as getting a flat in the middle of nowhere on a ride.

15,000km and no flats!
