Sometimes I ride at night now since it's getting dark earlier and this is a fear of mine always in the back of my mind. But then I think surely no one would do this. Now I'm going to be way to scared to ride at night.

We have a group here who does off-road night rides through local trials. One of the trials (don't recall if they discovered them, or someone else) had booby traps set up. Fish hooks hanging from branches and bungee cords set up between trees. . Some people are sick.

That's why I responded the way I did. These kinds of incidents need to be taken seriously and put down with very harsh justice.

Legend has it Ape-hangers (tall motorcycle handlebars) originated for this very reason.

Oh my Christ. I go down this tunnel often at high speed, and I have always had this fear of some sick f---
stringing steel wire across it at neck height! I'd never see it. I can't believe this is actually a reality for some!
