weird question...can someone help...

i've been riding for about 10 months now, on average about 12 miles per day except weekends when i may do 25 or more one day then on the 7th day rest... but anyway to my question... when i ride i notice that my gouch(the are between my ballsack and my butthole) stings at times, and on certain days get's slightly inflated, making it not impossible to ride, but uncomfortable. i keep the area clean, and always shower after i ride, i've looked it up online, and some of the advice gets a bit pricey(new saddle, or weeks worth of cycling shorts), they talk about a cream but don't give a name. my saddle is decent. does anyone have any other advice? thanks a bunch - defnit

I would check the position of the saddle. If it is tilted too far upwards it could be causing an irritation down there. Just a small change in the position could make a big difference.
I was wearing regular clothes for awhile but the layers of clothes and underclothes was hurting me so I recently switched back to bike shorts and it is well worth it. I've never used any of those creams but the shorts fixed my problem.

+1 on dropping the nose of your saddle about 1/8". That fixed my similar issue on my bike. You're not out much if it doesn't work, but if it does you've saved yourself loads.

Bikes: Some bikes. Hell, they're all the same, ain't they?

How thick is your bird's nest of pubes?

What you might be feeling is the result of the hairs getting yanked. If so, you don't have to get a Brazilian wax job, but some trimming will help.

I taint heard it called that before - I've used Butt Butt'r before for longer rides but your issue sounds more saddle/position related. A decent saddle is one that give you no pain IMO - weight on the sit bones is key

I had that problem when i was wearing regular fruit of the loom underwear and cargo pants,i solved that problem after i bought a pair of shorts made from poly material,it fits real tight and stretchy, you pull up your sack and it will stay put for a long time, your testicles was caught between the seat and the underwear.go check under armor website.

guiche is the piercing located in that area not the area itself.
riding a ladies saddle helps alot with the issue of keeping your pierce from getting iritated, as does keeping the nether-fro trimmed down.

and for flarks sake DON'T WEAR YOUR GUICHE WEIGHTS WHILE RIDING!

Do you think one of these would help? I have one on each of my bikes.

RonH, are you pretty familiar with Terry saddles? I truely need to know if they can be adjusted further forward than a B-17, or Champion Flyer.

+5 or 6 on dropping the nose of the saddle. Inflamed nerves can also cause pain so see your Doc, especially since there is swelling.

numbness / pain

We used to call that " Numbnuts "......I think you need to make sure the saddle isn't slipping/ loosely tipping and that you're wearing something with a good , strategic padding....

The gooch is the center of basically all my cycling-related pain. Quite the inconvenience.

So can you imagine why somebody would get a piercing anywhere near that area, especially when riding bikes a lot? I could not belive my eyes the first time I was readng about it.

Me too, badmother. And the solution is fairly obvious, isn't it?

Try hemorrhoid ointment as a preventive measure. I use it before I take a long ride.
