Kona bicycles quality

I got a Kona Eighty-Eight as a Christmas gift. The wife paid $706 out-the-door for it. I like it for the thought behind it. The quality though SUCKS. With the slightest contact with anything the paint stracthes right down to the bare metal. I'm not talking about smashing it into a wall. I'm talking about it brushing up against a wall if I move it around my house or when I tried to mount a wire basket on the front that was coated in rubber. It has a glovebox mounted on the frame and there is already rust inside of that. I do everything in my power not to ride it in bad weather, the rain or whatever. It is disgusting that something like that can happen so fast. It's only been about 18 months or so that I have had it. Is there anyone else who has one of these bikes or has had similar problems with Kona. I was planning on buying a Worldbike and a UTE in this coming winter but I truly think I need to look elsewhere.

I already have the bike, thanks for the link. I emailed Kona explaining my disatisfaction. I don't know what to expect but i don't expect anything actually. I wasted my money.

Poor paint on Kona's is a pretty common complaint unfortunately. Decent bikes other than that.

Kona makes a pretty excellent bike and should be taking care of your paint issues.

I just bought a Kona Dew and have had no problems. The paint, at least this far, seems quite durable. Maybe it has to do with your model?
