2005 bikes

Does anyone know when are the 2005 Trek bikes coming out on the market?

Bikes: Trek 4300 X 2. Trek 1000, Trek 6000

Some of them already are. They don't have a red carpet rollout. They just start dwindling into bike stores.

Bikes: 2005 Trek 1000

yeah, I just bought one actually. My LBS got me a 2005 Trek 1000. Since I am a poor college student to be, that's what I could afford. I know the low end Shimano components aren't the best, but they work. Oh, and here's a cool thing. This year even the 1000 has a carbon fork on it. So every Trek road bike has a carbon fork as far as I know. To varying degrees of quality of course, but still it's a plus.

I just bought a 2005 Trek 7300. They are slowly getting into stores as 2004 stock runs out.

That model and the Gary Fisher Nirvana are the models I am considering. Am leaning towards the Fisher because it comes with Rock Shox Metro fork.

Haven't seen any info on 2005 treks on the trek web site? Does it differ from the 2004? I don't know if I should wait for the 2005 or just get the 2004? So far haven't heard of any discounts on 2004s at my LBS.

Just talked to my LBS and he told me the 2005 should be out by late August. Asked if there was gonna be a sale on the 2004, and he told me that the difference is just the color of the frame, so no clearance on 2004. Based on that I rather wait for an '05 instead of getting an '04

Um.....if the only difference is color, is the 05 coming in a color you prefer? If not, why wait for the 05? I actually had to do a little searching to get an 04 Expedition Sport because I wanted the blue and silver rather than the straight silver that the 05 was in.

Good point, I talked to someone from Fisher Bikes and he told me th 2005 nirvana will be metallic silver/metallic red. The 2004 is black and silver. both look good. But I wanted to get a break from buying the 2004.

About 3 weeks ago I bought a 2005 gary Fisher Nirvana just delivered to my local dealer -- it's metallic red & silver. Dealer says it's got a better seat and pedals than the 04. I'm no bike expert, but it seems like a really nice bike at a reasonable price.

Other 2005 trek specs are accessible, just not public... you can get at them by going to the trek site, clicking on an existing 2004 model, and change the '2004' in the URL to '2005'.

That's the same bike/color I bought. No complaints so far. I'm going to ride it until I lose the weight I need/want to lose and get back into good shape. In the meantime, I'm already doing research on my next bike for when the time comes. Right now I'm doing research/comparisons on the Bianchi Veloce, Fuji Bordeaux, Specialized Allez Comp Triple, and the Specialized Sequoia Comp. I figure I have a good eighteen months to decide but it's fun doing the research.
